Atlas Copco is a world-leading provider of sustainable productivity solutions. It is India’s leading manufacturer of innovative solutions in air compressors and industrial gases, energy efficient vacuum pumps, portable compressors, light towers and generators, ergonomically designed industrial tools and assembly systems.
The challenge was to conceptualise, design and execute multiple offices, factories branding and other environmental branding projects for Atlas Copco’s various sites across the country – while adhering to their globally-defined brand guidelines. Factory branding was especially challenging as there was little scope for aesthetic transformation, and industrial mandates have to be followed.
Approch
Interics conducted a detailed study of each site’s individual layout, usage, mandatory requirements, etc. and mapped content for distinct areas of each site, keeping in mind the audience and departments, while defining areas for both mandatory messaging and thematic content.

Solution Areas
Transforming the spatial experience with creative installations. At the H.O. Dapodi canteen, our idea was to showcase and celebrate the rich and diverse cultures of India. A life size truck represents the groceries transported across the country and used for cooking. Inside the canteen, regional culture & cuisine is celebrated through eye-catching graphics and illustrations. Displays of hand-painted earthen pots & vases, fabric paintings in folk styles, ‘Puneri Patya’ on wood (witty notices in typical Pune-style), etc. provided vibrant and Indian accents to enhance the theme of cultural diversity.
Communicating the theme of sustainability and Nature-friendliness at another site in Nashik, by creating the entire branding and installations using environment-friendly materials such as earthenware, bamboo, printed fabric (instead of vinyl), etc.
The Design Studio was enlivened with bright colours, evocative illustrations and creative installations into a memorable spatial experience.
At other Atlas Copco offices and factories, Interics designed and delivered a rich blend of creative designs and mandatory content, working within the company’s brand guidelines.
